Fall 2020
In poster number one, I have incorporated the usage of the total visual field, pulling the gray shapes to the edge as well as the entire blue background. There is repetition in the shapes I used, with the three yellow shapes and the seven gray shapes. There is variation and succession in size of the yellow shapes, as well as variation in the direction and the space in between of the gray shapes. The horizontality of the composition and the placement of the yellow shapes creates a diagonal, zigzag movement. The contrast in color is evident through the dominant blue, the subordinate gray, and the accent yellow.
In poster number two, I have incorporated a lot of angular reflection. The complex crescent shapes juxtapose the smooth, simplistic letterforms, and the overall composition demonstrates a spiral movement. The two understated lavender crescent shapes frame the composition, and the asymmetry and defined center of interest are intended to create balance and weight. The dominant lavender, subordinate violet, and accent orange contrast by one being a tint of the other, and one is near opposite on the color wheel.
In poster number three, I have chosen to demonstrate simplicity, understatement, and contrast between symmetry and offset asymmetry. The repetition of circles in succession is meant to add subtlety and draw the eye up to the negative space of the composition. The black fan-like shapes are meant to ground the other shapes. The dominant red, subordinate black, and accent white are intended to push the object off the page and create depth.
